Additional Good in Bed Information

For twenty-eight years, things have been tripping along nicely for Cannie Shapiro. Sure, her mother has come charging out of the closet, and her father has long since dropped out of her world. But she loves her friends, her rat terrier, Nifkin, and her job as pop culture reporter for The Philadelphia Examiner. She's even made a tenuous peace with her plus-size body.

But the day she opens up a national women's magazine and sees the words "Loving a Larger Woman" above her ex-boyfriend's byline, Cannie is plunged into misery...and the most amazing year of her life. From Philadelphia to Hollywood and back home again, she charts a new course for herself: mourning her losses, facing her past, and figuring out who she is and who she can become.

What Customers Say About Good in Bed:

The book goes downhill fast after Cannie becomes best friends with "Maxi," a famous actress she was trying to interview for a column. I think the first half of this book would be 4 stars, and the second half would be 2 stars, so I compromised with 3. After this unconvincing friendship, the story becomes increasing ridiculous and unbelievable. The story hooks you in immediately and seems to set up a unique plot. The flashbacks to explain her relationship with Bruce and her family issues from childhood add some depth to the story and help develop Cannie's character. The book was entertaining for the most part, but it was definitely frustrating toward the end. Worth reading if you are bored, but not a must-read.

I loved this book. I thought it was light and humorous. I loaned it to my Aunt to read next because it was so good. I just bought the next book called Certain Girls and I am excited to read it.

WHY. This was an unexpected read for me. and WHEN WILL IT STOP. the title grabbed me and I was hooked afterwards. didn't know there was a sequel but i bought the last one in stock.Cannie Shapiro speaks for so many plus-sized women who go through life wondering: HOW. The heartbreak with Bruce (he was HORRIBLE.)., the pain of her father's abandonment then him not even having enough "kahunas" to tell her the truth. all of those things made her an individual who had no problem speaking her mind. Her wit and sense of humor kept me going the entire book.Thumbs up and I can't wait to read "Certain Girls."

Book took 16 days to arrive (only 3 states away) and it was LARGE print, which wasn't disclosed in sales description. Most disappointed, I returned it.

The characters are all very likeable but completely simple. For the most part this is a nice easy read. The best way I can think to describe it is Bridget Jones with a weight problem and several life experiences that are outlandish and depressing all at once. In any case, there are enough funny and cute moments to keep the story moving and the overall book enjoyable.Rating: 3 out of 5 stars. Suggested With: A margarita and a poolside lounge chair.
